Taylor Photo Shoot & Other News

This afternoon, Frank, Jr., ordained my youngest son, Taylor an Elder. I appreciate him so much. I am very humbled that Taylor is worthy to accept this calling of service.

Frank also brought the disc of photos he took of Taylor in May. Enjoy a few of my favorites.

Hot Summer Movie Days

Saturday afternoon I picked up Hailie and Natalie and took them to see the new Ice Age movie. We got strawberry soda per Hailie's request and the biggest popcorn offered. I put the popcorn container on one side of Natalie's chair where she and Hailie could reach it and the drink between them with 3 straws. Natalie was by far the biggest eater. Toward the end of the movie she had the drink between her legs. I could hear that she'd reached the bottom of the cup with the noises coming from the straw. When the popcorn was nearly gone she tilted it up to get the last pieces. She is So funny! I had a very good time. I hope they did too!

Happy Pioneer Day July 24, 2012

Monday Adam invited me to stay with his family in the Plaza Hotel where he works. He was able to get a room with a king bed, a queen pull-out couch, a roll-away and 2 cribs. It was a good thing the room was large so we could all fit. The girlies went swimming with mom. Adam had to work until 11. I went to bed. Up at 7 and on our way to the parade. We found a nice spot and had a lot of fun. We even saw Cathy & Carlton and they saw us! Afterward we checked out the new Harmon's grocery store downtown. Pretty fancy! It was a wonderful day! Thanks for inviting me!

Walking for the Cure

Those of you who know me well realize I do not generally get involved in causes, but one of my neighbors asked if I'd walk for an hour for The American Cancer Society. Of course, everytime I agree to such things, all (*@# breaks loose. I'm on call Thursday nights from 5 p.m. to 8 a.m. for my mortuary to take deceased individuals into our care. Unfortunately for me, this past Thursday proved to be a "killer." No pun intended. I was called out at 9:15. Came back at 11 p.m. Back out at 2 and pick up 2 women. Back out at 4:40 to pick up another woman. Went back to sleep at 6 and up at 6:45 to put in a full day. Went to Curves (dumb idea). Then at 8 p.m. I walked for an hour in a circle for the Cancer Society. Needless to say, I'm not very useful after only 3 hours and 40 minutes of sleep and that was not all in one stretch. The first call I picked up a man who had been dead for more than a week and weighed over 300 pounds. I have the aches and bruises to prove it.  Needless to say I dragged myself home from the park at 9 p.m. and headed to shower and straight to bed. I didn't get up until 9 and I'm still dragging my butt around. Here is a photo of me with Heidi Marie before I started to walk. I never think I'm a giant person until I have to stand next to tiny people.  When all was said and done I'm glad I was able to walk but have a feeling I won't be signing up for any rigorous Friday night activities in the future.

Holladay-Cottonwood Memorial Mortuary

So, here we are. These are the men I work with at my mortuary on a daily basis. There are many others at our other locations but here I am with Kirk MacKay (goatee) and Jeremy Layton. (Yes he went to Layton High). We had to take this photo for our Pursuit of Excellence requirements.

Graffitti Me!

Andrew and Taylor were playing with a new app on Taylor's IPOD Touch tonight. Here I am.  Pretty abstract!
